Biography
Narain Darakananda is a violinist and violin/viola teacher based in Providence, Rhode Island. He is a teaching artist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School. Before moving to Rhode Island, Narain was an active performer in California, performing with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera and Vallejo Symphony. He also taught privately at the Amabile School of Music, Northern California Music and Arts Cultural Center, and at his private studio.
Narain Darakananda received his bachelor's degree in music and psychology from Bard College studying with Erica Kiesewetter and his master’s in violin performance from the San Francisco Conservatory, studying with Kay Stern. His students have gone on to play at the Villa Sinfonia Foundation, Ottawa Youth Symphony, CODA All-State Orchestras, and San Francisco All-City Middle School Youth Orchestra. |
